Public art and ecclesiastical commissions became a major focus for Keyser during this decade. He ignored existing solutions, instead responding to the parameters of a given commission to produce "forms that I could never create alone." The challenge was to respond to the architecture and/or the environment to create a solution that presented a unified statement.
